HISPANIC /LATINA FOLKTALES

People  living in Latin America, Mexico
an
d the   Caribbean  Islands   tell many folktales.

People living in Latin America, Mexico and some islands in the
Caribbean speak Spanish. Some of their folktales can be traced
back to Spain.

Brazil, in Latin America was at one time a colony of Portugal. The
people in Brazil speak Portuguese. The people in Haiti speak
Creole which is a form of French.

The  folktales  told  in the Spanish language are thought of as  called Hispanic or Latina Folktales
These  folktales  include people and animals as characters.

Some folktales in other Caribbean  Islands such as Haiti,
for example, have many folktales which
have African influence.

That is because many people came to Haiti  and some other Caribbean Islands
from Africa , a long time ago.

These people  brought their stories with them.
